Dear Resident 

We have recently been made aware of an incident of cold calling to a resident on Kelverdale Road. 

2 males have approached an elderly resident advising that they would spray the driveway to clean it. They quoted £400. Fortunately the residents neighbour stepped in and told the males to leave before any ‘work’ was completed and no money was handed over. 

This is a reminder to residents not to ‘employ’ anyone that cold calls. Trading Standards advise 1. not to engage or let them in. 2. Watch out for pressure tactics 3. Never pay upfront or in cash 4.always get multiple written quotes 5. Know your cancellation rights. (14 day cooling off period)
